Ms. Steakley has more than twelve years of experience in fundraising, including gift administration, direct marketing, planned giving, and grant writing. Ms. Steakley began her career at Messiah College, where she handled gift entry and receipting, supervised phonathon, and helped design and manage a major gifts giving club. She joined Prison Fellowship in 1996, and served as production manager for the direct marketing program. Based on her success in that role, she was asked to implement and manage a marketing program for Prison Fellowship's planned giving efforts and later served as a planned giving donor representative for the eastern United States. In this latter role, she successfully completed the organization's first two gifts of real estate, including trust and donor advised fund components. From 2002 to 2007, Ms. Steakley directed the organization's grant seeking efforts, writing proposals that resulted in grants of more than $8,000,000 from foundations and individuals. Ms. Steakley joined TCI as an associate in April 2007. She holds a B.A. in English from Messiah College and has completed post-graduate course work in financial planning and nonprofit management. She is a member of the American Association of Grant Professionals and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Ms. Steakley is currently on sabbatical with limited availability for consultations.
